Meaning: To leap or jump

Mandala: Araimandi, Swastika, Muzhumandi, Prenkana

Hasta’s: Alapadma, Katkhamukha

Solkattu: Dith taiyum ta ta tai

 

Adavu 1

Starting position: Stand in Araimandi with both hands in front of the chest in katakhamukha

Dith taiyum: With a jump to the right side land with right feet with left feet in swastika (motita utplavana). Right arm stretched sideways in straight line in Alapadma, left hand remains in front of the chest in katakhamukha.

ta ta tai: Stay in above position with a slight bend to the right.

Dith taiyum: With a jump to the left side land with left feet with right feet in swastika. Left arm stretched sideways in straight line in Alapadma, right hand in front of the chest in katakhamukha.

ta ta tai: Stay in above position with a slight bend to the left.

Dith taiyum : With a jump to the front ,land right feet first and then left feet into Araimandi (Kripalaga utplavana). Right arm stretched out in front in straight line in Alapadma, left hand above head in katakhamukha.

ta ta tai: Stay in above position.

Dith taiyum: Jump back facing forwards with left feet landing first and then right feet into Araimandi.Right arm is brought back to centre of chest in katakhamukha while left hand remains above head in katakhamukha.

Repeat starting left.

 

Adavu 2

Starting position: Stand in Araimandi with both hands in front of the chest in katakhamukha

Dith taiyum: With a jump to the right side land with right feet with left feet in swastika (motita utplavana). Right arm stretched sideways in straight line in Alapadma, left hand remains in front of the chest in katakhamukha.

ta ta tai: Stay in above position with a slight bend to the right.

Dith taiyum: With a jump to the left side land with left feet with right feet in swastika. Left arm stretched sideways in straight line in Alapadma, right hand in front of the chest in katakhamukha.

ta ta tai: Stay in above position with a slight bend to the left.

Dhit taiyum: With a small jump land on your toes into muzhumandi facing left. With circular movement of your arms in Alapadma bring both hands above your head into katakmukha.

ta ta tai: Stay in this position

Dhit taiyum: Stretch left feet to the back and bring your right arm stretched to the front in Alapadma, left hand remains above the head in katakamukha

ta ta tai: With a small bramhari (Eka pada bramhari) of your right leg end in sthanka facing forwards. Right arm performs a circular movement in straight line and ends in Katakamukha in front of the chest. Left hand remains above the head in Katakamukha.

Repeat starting from left.

Adavu 3:

Starting position: Stand in Araimandi with both hands in front of the chest in katakhamukha

Dith taiyum: With a jump to the right side land with right feet with left feet in swastika (motita utplavana). Right arm stretched sideways in straight line in Alapadma, left hand remains in front of the chest in katakhamukha.

ta ta tai: Stay in above position with a slight bend to the right.

Dith taiyum: With a jump to the left side land with left feet with right feet in swastika. Left arm stretched sideways in straight line in Alapadma, right hand in front of the chest in katakhamukha.

ta ta tai: Stay in above position with a slight bend to the left.

Dhit taiyum: With a small jump land on your toes into muzhumandi facing left. With circular movement of your arms in Alapadma bring both hands above your head into katakmukha.

ta ta tai: Stay in this position

Dhit taiyum: Left feet moves back into prenkhana, both hands perform a circular movement with Alapadma, back bent in a circular movement

ta ta tai: With a small bramhari facing left end in sthanka hands in front of the chest in katakhamukha.

Repeat starting left.
