Meaning : ​Crossing and stamping patterns

Mandala: Aramandi(ayatha), swasthika, prenkhana

Hastas    : Katakamukha, Alapadma, pataka

Adavu 1.

​Solkattu : di tai

​di : In aramandi with  both hands held in katkamukha in front of the chest. Right foot

crosses behind the left foot (swastika) with right hand changing to alapadma

and the torso bends sideways to the right from the waist.

​tai : Foot returns to starting position, hand and torso returns to the starting position

Repeat above starting from the left.

Adavu 2

​Solkattu : di di tai

Starting position in aramandi in natyarambha

di : Right foot crosses behind the left foot (swastika) with right hand changing

to katakhamukha  and the torso bends sideways to the right from the waist.

​di : stamp on the left foot with hand changing to alapadma

​tai : Foot returns to starting position, hand and torso returns to the starting position

Repeat above starting from the left

Adavu 3

Solkattu : di tai di di tai

Starting position in aramandi in natyarambha

​di : Right foot crosses behind the left foot (swastika) with right hand changing to

katakhamukha and the torso bends sideways to the right from the waist.
​tai : stamp on the left foot with right hand changing to alapadma.

​di : stretch right leg in front (prenkhana) with right hand stretched in front alapadma

​di : stamp on the left foot, right hand in alapadma comes back in front of the chest

​tai : stamp on the right foot returing back to ayata position, right hand moves back

to starting position of natyarambha position.
