Dola or Visu adavu

Meaning: Dola – use dola hasta;  Visu – to throw

Mandala: Araimandi, Prerita, Swastika

Hasta’s : Pataka/Dola

Solkattu: ta tai tai ta

 

This adavu is similar to paraval adavu.

Ta: Sweep right heel off the floor followed by a circular movement of the feet. Right hand in Pataka in front of the chest to begin with(facing down as in dola), as you sweep heel off the floor lift it straight up over your head, pataka facing sideways. Left hand in dola

Tai: Move right feet away sideways from the left foot (Prerita) and stamp, right arm moves slowly down towards the right into a straight line at the level of the shoulders (horizontally), Pataka hasta facing up. Left hand remains in dola.

Tai:Cross the left foot behind the right and stamp on the ball of the left foot ( swastika), right hand remains in a straight line stretched out.

Ta:Stamp on the flat of the right foot with the right hand remaining in a straight line.

Ta: Sweep left heel off the floor followed by a circular movement of the feet. Right arm moves slowly to the top of the head stretched out in a straight line as before, Pataka facing sideways.

Tai: Move left feet away sideways from the right foot (Prerita) and stamp, right arm slowly comes down towards the centre of chest.

Tai: Cross the right foot behind the left and stamp on the ball of the right foot (swastika), right hand comes to the centre of the chest, Pataka facing down in dola

Ta; Stamp on the flat of the left foot with right hand remaining in the middle of the chest in dola.

 

Repeat above starting left and continue in “T” shape pattern.
